William Garside

Will Garside is Director of Engineering at SigTech, where he leads the build and rollout of MAGIC — an AI-powered assistant that delivers data-grounded financial insight through a team of specialist agents. After co-creating the original proof-of-concept, Will led its productionisation and now sets SigTech’s engineering standards and roadmap.

Before joining SigTech, Will served as Lead DevOps Engineer at Chetwood Bank, where he designed and implemented a fully serverless credit-decision engine on AWS (Lambda, Python, DynamoDB). The new platform reduced rule-change lead times from weeks to hours and replaced a legacy vendor solution, underpinning the bank’s growth to £4 billion in savings deposits and previous success in the lending industry.

Will earned a First-Class BSc in Computer Science from the University of Sheffield. Away from work he applies the same hands-on mindset to smart-home projects and hobby electronics.
